We offer boys and girls the opportunity to join a choir that is part of the centuries old tradition of English church music. As a member of the choir, children receive a thorough training in music, covering all the basics from reading music through to performance techniques. They will work through an award scheme run by the Royal School of Church Music and, most importantly, develop the key life skills of:

- self-discipline and responsibility
- commitment to others as part of a professional team
- time management
- high standards and a sense of achievement

There is extensive educational research that shows children that are trained as choristers are more likely to do well in exams and later life. Singing is good for your child's future!

Yes and no. Compared to a cathedral choir, where you'd have to send you child off to boarding school in order to join, no it's really not a big commitment! Having said that, it is vital that all members of the choir attend the weekly rehearsals and monthly service in order for the choir to function properly.

Our normal routine is:
- Choir practice: Wednesdays 6.30 - 7.45
- Regular services: First Sunday of each month 10am
- Occasional services like weddings (paid!)
- Occasional concerts to raise funds for trips etc

Membership of the choir is absolutely free.

Some trips do have an associated cost, but we try to subsidise these where possible, and we often get group rates.

Any child currently in Years 3 to 9 is very welcome.

Good! That's the only prerequisite. If you'd like to discuss the choir further, please email the Director of Music, James Eaton. He is always very happy to have an informal chat if that would be useful.

You learn a lot (yes, that can be fun!!), do cool trips, and make lots of new friends. There's only one big rule, and that is that you have to really like singing!

We're a church choir, so we mainly prepare music to sing in church which is quite traditional. We also do concerts where we do pop songs, jazz and songs from musicals.

When we're singing we work hard, but we also have breaks when we can mess around and chat. Also, once each half-term we have a night off from singing to do something different, like...
- Horse riding
- Kayaking
- Skiing
- Bowling
- Homemade pizza
- Swimming
- Cinema
- Laser Quest

We do something called 'Voice for Life' which is an award scheme with lots of levels that you work through in choir. For each level you complete, you get a different colour ribbon: Light Blue, Dark Blue, Red, Green and Purple.

No way!
